New program: LowBattery.
This utility monitor costantly the battery level and alert you if a critical level is reached.
It would be interesting to create a service on this, but at the moment is enough to put the program in the startup folder. LowBattery is distribuited under the GPL license for Windows only (this time). To download the source click here.

 

ServerHeader.
This utility displays the header data of a web server.

I've written eject, a utility to eject CD-ROM or disconnect removable units.

The program is distribuited under the GPL license for the Microsoft Windows Operating system (Linux has just a utility of this kind). To donwload the binary and source click here. The program is compatible with Windows 95 and subsequent systems.

 

You can freely download a C language example that shows socket programming under Linux, FreeBSD and Windows. This little program, a simple portscan for local testing, is provided as one source file that you can compile without changes in Windows, and most probably in every Unix like operating systems.
